Using a small empty cup you remove a full small cup of pepsi and pour it in the sevenup jar, you mix the seven-up jar well. Then you remove from the seven-up jar (which has a small amount of pepsi in it) a full small cup and pour it into the pepsi jar.
The question now is:
Is there more pepsi in the sevenup jar than seven-up in the pepsi jar, or is it that there is more sevenup in the pepsi jar than pepsi in the sevenup jar?
This riddle simply proves that casual reasoning cant be trusted.

"The same"
The same amount of pepsi exists in the 7up jar as 7up in the pepsi jar.

Ali, listen try it out with simple numbers like 100ml of pepsi and 100ml of sevenup. And a small 10ml cup, and see what happens.
Actually, I can prove it easily using x, y notation, but in a blog's comment, it wont be easily read.

We removed x of the pepsi jar, yes its pure 'x' pepsi and poured it in the seven up jar. Very logical, pure 'x' pepsi, I know.. But wait a second, the pepsi jar is now 'x' less pepsi, and the seven up jar is 'x' millilitres of pepsi more.
Now getting back 'x' of the mixture back, you have to realize that the mixture is added in one place, and subtracted from the other.
